Aftermovie of our Night of the Nerds 2026 Fontys event at TQ4.2.

Filmed and edited by Max Doesborgh 😊.

The recent event of Night of the Nerds (Wednesday, June 3, 2026)

On Wednesday, June 3, Fontys ICT participated in Night of the Nerds. It was a fantastic day and a great event, and we were thrilled to have you all join us. We made it an inspiring day where Fontys students could showcase their work, allowing visitors to experience projects and engage with you as creators.

The official aftermovie is now available online:

For now, I’ve kept the layout on that page, including the AI-generated images I created as a mood impression. As you know, this website is based on my presentation (exported as SVG), so you can easily translate it into English yourself (it’s currently in Dutch 😊).

We also loved the entrance setup at TQ4.2, where the video was displayed (see overview below). Visitors could choose to make themselves less recognizable, for example by wearing a caps and mustaches. It was amusing to see our guests walking around the MAIN Stage in the Clock Building with fake mustaches!

NEXT STEPS: FONTYS TECH SNACKS (working title) 😊
Version 0.1

As part of Fontys ICT's growth strategy and to promote our ICT programs, we want to continue developing our plug-and-play Tech Snacks. These interactive technology installations were first showcased at Night of the Nerds, but will in future also be used for open days, education fairs, taster sessions, and other events. They introduce visitors to technology and Fontys ICT in an accessible and engaging way.

What we've seen so far - and what we'll be working on next semester - is that while the first prototypes were developed by students, they don't yet fully meet all requirements for usability, transport, and plug-and-play functionality. We're now evaluating which concepts are most suitable for further development.

If you already have a Tech Snack idea or would like to create one next semester, please contact c.geene@fontys.nl or l.degraaf@fontys.nl. We can help you get started or answer questions like "How do I build this?" and "Does this qualify as a Tech Snack?" We'll then work together to refine the most promising installations - maybe even yours! - into fully functional Tech Snacks. Your concept just needs to meet these basic requirements:

Each Tech Snack should be:
